The General Process
How the Insurance Roofing Process Generally Works
Every situation is different — and whether damage is covered always depends on your individual policy and your insurer's decision. We can't promise claim approval, coverage, or any insurance outcome. But most storm-related roofing projects follow the same general shape:
- 01
Notice or suspect storm damage
It often starts with something you can see or hear — missing shingles after high winds, hail you watched hit the house, or a water stain spreading on a ceiling.
- 02
Have the roof evaluated
A professional inspection documents what the storm actually did. We look at shingles, flashing, vents, and other visible indicators — and show you what we find.
- 03
Document visible damage
Photos, notes, and measurements create a clear record of the roof's condition. Good documentation matters whether or not an insurance claim follows.
- 04
Review your insurance policy and process
Your policy defines what's covered, your deductible, and how to file. We can walk through the general process with you, but the policy itself is between you and your insurer.
- 05
Work with the appropriate parties
That may include your insurance company and their adjuster, alongside us as your contractor. Clear communication between everyone keeps the project on track.
- 06
Determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate
The findings — and your insurer's determination — decide whether a targeted repair or a full replacement is the right scope.
- 07
Complete the roofing work if approved
Once the path is settled, we schedule and complete the work with the same care and communication we bring to every project.
Coverage, deductibles, and timelines are set by your policy and your insurance company — not by us, and not by any contractor.
